In the next few months, several new strains of marijuana bearing Julian Marley’s name are expected to be available in the American market.

Marley, son of legendary Jamaican reggae artist Bob Marley, has partnered with Drop Leaf LLC to launch a new premium marijuana product line: Julian Marley JUJU Royal Premium Marijuana.

In addition to the signature strains of marijuana, Drop Leaf will shortly be introducing other products, including edibles and beverages, under the Julian Marley brand name.

Together with DNA Genetics, the industry’s leading developer of marijuana, they are looking to create high quality strains to serve medicinal and recreational users in places where the herb has been decriminalised.

Commenting on the development, Marley stated: “I am happy to speak out in favour of decriminalization and I salute Drop Leaf as a proud participant in the movement and struggle to make this natural super plant available for all who need it and its healing properties.”

In the wake of his iconic father’s death from cancer at age 36, Marley supports the fight to legalise marijuana, especially for patients with cancer and other ailments that could reportedly benefit from the plant’s healing components.

Accordingly, a portion of the proceeds from the Julian Marley JUJU Royal Premium Marijuana brand are said to be earmarked for donation to several cancer related foundations/charitable organizations that are currently being evaluated.

Julian Marley was born in London, England on June 4, 1975, to the Jamaican born king of reggae and Lucy Pounder, a Barbadian resident in Britain.

Growing up in a musical environment, he became a skilful, self-taught musician at an early age, going on to master the bass, drums, guitar and keyboards.

He is best known for his albums Lion In The Morning, Time and Space and Awake, the latter of which earned a Grammy nomination.
