His Excellency, Mr. Larry Leon Palmer has been nominated by President Obama as the U.S Ambassador to St Kitts/Nevis, Barbados, St. Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Before being nominated for this post, His Excellency, Palmer, was previouslyPresident and CEO of the Inter-American Foundation from 2005 to 2010. He was alsoU.S. Ambassador to Honduras and Charge D'Affaires in Quito, Ecuador.He has also worked in theDominican Republic, Uruguay, Paraguay, Korea, and Sierra Leone.For his new ambassador position he will be working mainly out ofBridgetown, Barbados.

His citations further include serving asAssistant to the President of the University of Texas at El Paso and also President of the 41st Senior Seminar, a senior management course for Senior Foreign Service officers.

His education includes aB.A from Emory University, an M. Ed. from Texas Southern University and a Doctorate in Higher Education Administration and African Studies from Indiana University, Bloomington.
