The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) is delighted to announce that nominations are now open for the Annual Caribbean Travel Media Awards to be held on Monday 4 November 2019. CTO members, their public relations agencies or qualified UK or Irish-based media or bloggers can begin submitting their entries, published or broadcast, between 1 September 2018 and 30 June 2019. The closing date for entries is 13 September 2019.
The 2019 Caribbean Travel Media Awards have been updated with changes including Best Online and Best Blogger Feature/post being merged into one category and the exclusion of Photojournalism as a category on its own. A new entry criterion now specifies that the Best Caribbean Roundup entry must include a minimum of three Caribbean destinations, while Social Media entries may not be campaigns created solely by members or their respective PR’s.
The final eight categories are as follows:
1. Best travel trade feature
2. Best national newspaper feature
3. Best regional newspaper feature
4. Best consumer feature
5. Best broadcast (TV and radio) feature
6. Best online or blog feature/post
7. Best Social Media Campaign
8. Best Caribbean Round Up
Carol Hay, the CTO’s director of marketing for UK and Europe, said, “We are looking forward to another successful year of the Caribbean Travel Media Awards and urge our members, journalists and bloggers to take this opportunity to share their original and engaging Caribbean stories that continue to inspire audiences to choose the Caribbean. We hope that the early submission date will help with getting entries through smoothly and urge all participants to take note of the closing dates and full entry criteria.”
