Russell Alexander Collaborative Family Lawyers will offer free legal informational sessions during a three-day event next week to ensure families from all demographics know their rights and get access to the legal system.

The firm will hold its first-ever complimentary two-day virtual summit on Sept. 21-22 called Family Law Now Live, with sessions on collaborative divorce, the voice of the child in family court, divorce and income assessments and valuations, property sharing, spousal support and common law separations, among other topics.

The sessions, which will be held live on Zoom, will be hosted by founder Russell Alexander, as well as firm associates and guest professionals, serving as an extension of the firm’s biweekly virtual event series on family law.

“Because we’ve received such a positive response to the bi-weekly family law series, we wanted to expand it and really go in-depth on some issues that people are curious about,” said Alexander. “It feels good to be able to share the wealth of knowledge we have among our staff and colleagues to help families struggling with these problems.”

In addition, lawyers with Russell Alexander’s law firm will offer free one-on-one consultations during the firm’s first-ever Pro Bono Day on Friday, Sept. 23. Seasoned family lawyers will meet virtually for complimentary initial family law consultations with people considering or seeking a divorce or separation.

“No one should be forced to stay in a bad family situation because they can’t afford good legal advice,” added Alexander. “We believe access to the legal system is a right every resident in the province should have and the event is one way for us to help expand this access and demystify the family law system in Ontario for everyone who needs it.”

Registration is required to attend. To register for the family law summit, go online hereor to request a pro bono initial consultation go online here.
