Parliamentary Secretary on Montserrat, Hon Gregory Willock has resigned from his post, and also from the ruling PDM Administration. Willock dealt with matters such as Youth Affairs, Sports and Culture. He will remain a member of the Montserrat Legislative Assembly (MLA) as an elected Parliamentarian.

He sent in his letter today stating his reasons for stepping down, as shown below:

Willock follows through on his pledge to resign after coming to ZJB Radio last week in support of Dr Ingrid Buffonge who called for the resignation of Hon Delmaude Ryan due to the poor state of healthcare delivery on Montserrat.

MNI Media last week asked Willock if he will fall on his sword and keep his resignation pledge after Hon Ryan stated emphatically on ZJB radio in an interview with Basil Chambers, that she would not be stepping down. Listen to MNI's statement by clicking here

A Motion of No Confidence in the Government of Premier Romeo is expected to be tabled at the next sitting of the Montserrat Legislative Assembly on October 23rd, 2018. It is left to be seen how that motion will play out considering this recent move by Willock.
