I’m watching this match, the pitch is rolled
It’s like their waiting has taken its final toll
Anxiety and preparation is face to face
Satisfaction greets nervousness for a pace
No more jive talking and wishful thinking
The players' passionate massaging and caressing

He is on the crease in control pleasantly stroking
The seam bowler is adjusting line and length poking
A game of pleasantry bat and pad close together
No need to be anxious - thoughts of an opening player
The pitch is fast, he’s adjusting to the measure
Signal of drizzle no preparation for inclement weather

The bowler is good! It’s pace, leg break and googly
Everything is on target rebounding smoothly
He tried a swing missed the crease had to start over
Bowler goes around the wicket, he drives it into extra cover
One rumbling through square leg and two in the gully
He is playing recklessly!
