Quite possibly the most fulfilling award anyone can receive in recognition of their achievements, both within their community or within their profession,  is an award from their very own people.

For the 5th year running, MNI Media was present in New York, USA, to witness The Emerald Isle Creative Vibes honouring five individuals for their outstanding contributions towards the advancement of our collective human condition. These persons who were awarded not only stand out in their chosen fields of endeavour, but they are also very much loved in their communities, as was depicted from the loud cheering and applause when each of their names were called to come forward and receive their award.

The Emerald Isle Creative Vibes held their 2018 Banquet and Appreciation Awards at Maestros Caterers on Sunday October 28th, 2018, in the Bronx, New York, USA.

The Guest of honour for this elegant event was the former Deputy Governor of Montserrat, Mr Alric "Jim" Taylor.

Mr Taylor also had the honour of delivering the feature address, towards which he gave a very vivid rundown of Montserrat's current path to where the island is presently, but more importantly he outlined ways in which he thinks Montserratians all over the world can contribute to the island's redevelopment.

The presentation from Mr Taylor, who was accompanied to New York by his lovely wife Genevieve, was very well received.

The Awardees on the night who received Awards from the Emerald Isle Creative Vibes were:

Dr. Icilma Fergus Rowe, Associate Professor of Medicine & Director and Founder of Healthy Heart Series Program, Mount Sinai Medical Center, NYC.

Also, Dr. Huldah Bramble Ryan, Professor of Accounting, Iona College, New Rochelle, NY

Andre Mitchell (Junior) - Entrepreneur, Bronx, NY, also received an award for his outstanding community work.

In addition, Margaret Dublin-White, Retired—NYC Department of Transportation, NY was awarded

Janice Galloway, Former President, Montserrat Aspirers, Inc, Dorchester, MA was also given an Award for her contributions.

The Emerald Isle Creative Vibes is an organisation that prides itself on hosting top class awards events. Thus, this year's offering to the over 200 patrons who came out to support the group and see people from the community being awarded, was no exception.

The attention to detail was very evident at the Awards event with the celebration and promotion of Montserrat's culture, via the music that was being played before dinner and also during the dancing segment of the evening. The local songs from the island's calypso stars such as Drago, Ruler, Kitaka, Live Wires Band, Arrow and many others, gave the evening that extra element of class and togetherness.

To see Montserratians out in their numbers, dressed elegantly to witness their own being recognised is a true symbol of national pride and patriotic example.

Yearly, The Emerald Isle Creative Vibes team have worked towards their vision to pull the Montserrat community closer together via their various initiatives such as this year's annual awards showcase. The group also donates important equipment and supplies to various entities on Montserrat that have been in need of such types of assistance.

Congratulations are most certainly in order to the Emerald Isle Creative Vibes on yet another superb hosting of their annual Appreciation Dinner and Awards. Also congratulations to all the 2018 Awardees on being recognised for the hard work that they do, and their unwavering commitment to excellence with their professional output.

The evening was topped off with some dancing that many had been waiting to participate in all evening. View the video below of  segment of the dancing and fun that took place at the 2018 Awards:
