Grammy award-winning Jamaican hit-maker Shaggy will headline an international concert at Shirley Heights Lookout as one of the featured party events during Antigua Sailing Week.

Shaggy will share top billing with Antigua’s Tian Winter at the show, to be staged on Tuesday April 29 under the sponsorship of Antigua’s English Harbour 5 Year Old Rum.

According to Caribbean Sales Manager of Antigua Distillery Calbert Francis: “We wanted to select an act that would appeal to the broad cross section of visitors as well as the Antiguan party crowd, and Shaggy definitely fits the bill.

“And of course the combination of Rum and Reggae is one which we know the sailors love,” he added.

Commenting on the concert, Commercial Director of Antigua Sailing Week Alison Sly-Adams said: “I’m delighted that English Harbour Rum is increasing its support of Antigua Sailing Week and hosting such a fantastic party.

“Over the last few years we have worked together to develop the parties at Antigua Sailing Week, and the vision of the management of Antigua Distillery Ltd., has continued to help shape our direction. We thank them for their huge support and look forward to making the Antigua Sailing Week 2014 parties the best yet.”

Inaugurated in 1968, Antigua Sailing Week is said to be the major event that drives year-round awareness of Antigua and Barbuda as the premier yachting destination in the Caribbean.

This year’s edition runs from April 26 to May 2 and features the eagerly anticipated Guadeloupe to Antigua race.
