The STEM World Summer School has multiple options available. Students can choose to spend either one, two, three or four weeks with us (depending on availability of appropriate places within subject strands) either on a residential basis or non-residential basis.
Each week consists of the same schedule with students working on team building and academic sessions for the first four days of the course with a final day of presentations to academics, friends, family and other guests.
Various subjects including Chemistry, Forensic Science, Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Physics, Astrophysics, Energy, Maths, Medical Sciences, Invention to Market and Robotics are available across the four weeks.
Places are available for the following weeks in 2014:
7th - 11th July
14th - 18th July
4th - 8th August
11th - 15th August
Course Aims
This course is for students who are: highly motivated in studying science; consistently achieve A*/A grades in at least 50% of their subjects; have academic achievements in the top 5% of the national average; have academic achievements which are in the top 10% of their school average or are recognised as gifted relative to those in their own year group; and has one or more abilities developed to a level significantly ahead of their year group (or with the potential to develop those abilities).
Applicants will be required to provide evidence of their academic ability in line with the above requirements.
Course Fees
1 week non-residential £540+VAT
1 week residential: £1080+VAT
2 weeks residential plus middle weekend stay: £2544+VAT
An additional night of fully supervised accommodation can be booked for £100 (inc. VAT) per person (inc. meals and pastoral supervision) for an early arrival on Sunday or late departure on Saturday.

- To provide information and inspire debate on how the STEM subjects influence the world around us.
