Ten Jurors Banned For Life in Antigua for Perversion of Justice In Sex Case

Ten jurors have been banned for life in Antigua & Barbuda for delivering a "perverse" verdict in a recent case involving and 18 year old male who was on the stand for alleged sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old-girl.

Justice Albert Redhead imposed the ban after the jury returned a not guilty verdict and stated that the ban was required to protect the judicial process from abuse.

Ten members out of the of the 12 member jury found the 18-year-old man not guilty while it was reported that two female jurors returned a guilty verdict.

According to reports in the case, Justice Redhead commented that he during his 30 years as an officer of the court, he could not recall seeing such perversion of justice.
