UWI Vice-Chancellor’s Forum: “Exonerating Garvey"

On Wednesday, February 16, The University of the West Indies in collaboration with The P.J. Patterson Centre for Africa-Caribbean Advocacy and The Centre for Reparation Research will host a Vice-Chancellor’s Forum themed, “Exonerating Garvey”.

The Forum will include live remarks from Professor Sir Hilary Beckles, Vice-Chancellor, The University of the West Indies; The Most Hon. P. J. Patterson, ON, OCC, PC, QC, Statesman in Residence, The UWI and Director, The P.J. Patterson Centre for Africa-Caribbean Advocacy; Dr Julius Garvey, Organiser, Justice4Garvey Campaign and President, The AIDO Network International; and Professor Rupert Lewis, Professor Emeritus, The University of the West Indies. Professor Verene Shepherd, Director, The Centre for Reparation Research will serve as Moderator.

The programme will also include endorsing feature messages from Dr The Honourable Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; The Honourable Olivia Grange, CD, MP; Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Jamaica; HH Paul J. Eganda, Global Chief of Embo Kingdom and Ambassador Dr June Soomer, Diplomat and Chair, The UWI Open Campus Council.
