Radio Montserrat (ZJB) Reporter Viona Alexander Smith is the Department of Youth Affairs third high-ranking and influential employee within the Government of Montserrat aged 30 and under this week.
Mrs Smith says she knows it is challenging being a young person especially in a small community in which one always seem to be under the microscope and sometimes feel pressured to conform to what everyone else expects them to be and do.
But, in the midst of all this, she is encouraging youth to be true to themselves, pursue their dreams and strive for excellence, adding that "Life is for living, so live it."
Mrs Smith says she is passionate about issues surrounding equality and inequality and it annoys her to see or hear of people being treated unfairly.
Mrs Smith says her future goals are to start her family, pursue a Masters Degree and contribute to Montserrat’s re-development.
The employees will be featured on the Montserrat Youth face book page.
The aim of this initiative is to celebrate the island’s youth as they make strides to develop their island.
The other youth featured so far are Acting Senior Medical Technologist Kimona Daniel and The Architect (Designate), Infrastructure Services Roydenn Silcott.
