There was no shortage of delightful dishes and food selections which included Indian, Chinese and Creole menus, bake and shark, won tons, roast pork, crab-stuffed dumplings, jerk chicken, corn soup, gyros, pellau and Haagen-Dazs.

Superb entertainment was indeed the order of the night with hilarious interjections by MCs JW & Blaze and performances by popular Chutney-Soca crossover band Dil-E-Nadan featuring Raymond Ramnarine, Kes The Band, Iwer George, The Ultimate Rejects featuring MX Prime and the pulsating rhythms of The Point Fortin Engine Room.

The famous Roy Cape All Stars commanded the crowd with numerous up-tempo and groovy Soca numbers. Vocalists Blaxx, Tizzy and Ricardo Drue kept audience members moving with a tight, smooth set which included guest appearances by Bajan sensation Rupee, St. Lucia’s Teddyson John, Jamaica’s Linky First and 2016 International Soca Monarch Voice.

In addition to all the Soca heavy-hitters, unlike many major Carnival events, Yorke Fete 2017 showcased new up and coming Soca talent as well as the band Rhapsody NG which features the electronic or PHI-pan alongside powerful, energetic vocals.

Most notably, part proceeds of Yorke all-inclusive are donated to K.I.N.D (Kids in Need of Direction) a Laventille based organization that aids children in need; and also towards an annual bursary to the U.W.I Alumni which assists needy students who require financial assistance to complete their education at U.W.I.
