Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the post of Office Attendant, Montserrat Secondary School in the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports. The successful applicant will be appointed before the commencement of the fiscal year in 2022/2023, that is, prior to April 01, 2022.


Under the supervision of the Principal, this officer will perform the duties of Office Attendant at the Montserrat Secondary School.  The Office Attendant will perform messenger duties and also assist with the preparation of all confidential documents, particularly, examinations and other documents to be utilized by staff and students.


The key responsibilities include:

  • Open and close all buildings on the compound during the school term or as required by the Principal or the Vice Principal
  • Purchase all supplies needed for the effective operation of the school
  • Collect mail and run errands as required and/or instructed on behalf of the school.
  • Duplicate, photocopy and collate materials for Teachers/Students use
  • Assist with the preparation and issue of late slips and exeats for students
  • Retrieve files from the storerooms as required by the Principal, vice Principal or Senior Clerical Officer
  • Assist with answering the telephone, receive and deliver messages as required
  • Prepare rooms for meetings as directed by the Principal, Vice Principal or the Secretary


The successful applicant should:

  • possess at least three subjects at the General Proficiency level minimum grade – Grade III
  • possess the requisite knowledge to operate basic reprographic machinery, such as Photocopying machines, and the like.
  • be able to communicate orally in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Possess good people skills to allow meaningful interactions between management, staff and students of the school.
  • Be in possession of a working motor vehicle.


Basic salary is in the scale R51 – 45, that is EC$20,388- EC$23,316 per annum.
